What to do if you feel you are not worthy of happiness, success, and love

Hello my dear friend,

Have you ever wondered when you will finally arrive in life? Being happy, peaceful, and successful? When you will finally "make it"? When you will finally be in a relationship, be fulfilled at work, and are surrounded by your best friends? When the world will realize how great and unique you are? When you will be financially worriless and can do whatever you want?

If you could answer "yes" to one of those questions, you are not alone. We all have these questions - sometimes more than once, sometimes as the only questions that are running in our mind.

How did those questions make you feel? Uncomfortable, restless, stressed? Frustrated, hopeless, clueless? As you can tell, it shows that these questions don`t serve us - they rather put us down. There are many reasons why this is so:

  • These questions suggest that we don`t have enough - that we ourselves are not enough

  • These questions put us into the future that we cannot predict and only shape in the present moment - whenever we are trapped in the past or the future, we can feel the stress in our body because it is not in our natural state. Our natural state is to be present in the moment.

  • These questions are focused on external factors that are never 100% in our control - for example, even if we do our utmost best at work, it may be that we still won`t get promoted, acknowledged, or given this big project. While all of this, if they do happen, can give us a great boost of self-confidence and a sense of worthiness, you may agree that this feeling is fleeting and we are already on the look-out for the next accomplishment.

To put things into context, of course, it is right and important to

  • invest in our personal development

  • set objectives and know our dreams that we would like to achieve in our future

  • go for this promotion, seek for belonging (which is a human trait), and aim for this big project

The crucial and healthy thing to know is to do this consciously, mindfully, and in balance.

My wish for you is to be aware of those questions that your mind is asking, because they will likely leave you feel not good enough and cause you to hustle through life. Let me tell you that you are good enough! You are a precious and unique human being!

If you don`t believe me, travel back in time to the moment you were born - what emotions come up for you when you see a new-born child? Do you see the immaculate beauty or do you see how chubby and fat / thin / weird the baby is? Are you full of love and protection or are there thoughts that this baby has to prove itself first before it deserves your love? Do you trust and wish that this baby will grow, blossom, and be happy or are there doubts despite your immense love?

There are many ways how to connect to the truth and lift the veil of worries and analysis-paralysis, that is probably the real pandemic of our current world, such as to:

  • Meditate regularly - not only to quieten your mind, but also to make room for your inner voice that wants to reach you

  • Do what you enjoy - joy is your nature, if you give yourself permission to express yourself, you will get used to listen to your own wants and needs (without feeling selfish!)

  • In case the thinking mind seems to be very dominating, ask for help from a qualified coach who can help you disentangle the Saboteur thoughts

But most of all, commit to love yourself in every moment. Even if you feel chubby and not in your best shape. Even if you have been disappointed or hurt. Even if you seemed to have failed or made a mistake. Even if you look tired and older than yesterday. Even if you just don`t feel like it - especially in these moments, you deserve to feel the love that is already in you. Even if your mind doesn`t believe it, lean towards it. Every move towards love will make a difference and help you in the long run. Imagine yourself in a gym - even if you think running for 5min doesn`t change anything, it does. You have trained your mind to not give up, you have moved your body and got fresh air, you trained your muscles for the bigger goal, you created a success moment that has changed your day if you didn`t go!
