When you feel like no one understands you

Updated: Apr 10, 2021

"You can`t be strong all the time. Sometimes you just need to be alone and let your tears out."

There are moments when you feel like on a rainy day. Rainy because tears would fall out of your eyes. Not only tear drops, but floods like a river. You feel like you cannot talk to anybody or even if you can, you feel left not being understood. What are my tears about? Why is this heavy dark cloud over me? You don`t know ... sometimes it just is.

There are moments when you are out with a group, and although there is no fight or anything big, you feel you don`t belong here. You wonder whether you are the only one noticing. Is there something wrong with you or them or no one at all? But then why do you feel this way, so isolated, like an outsider.

There are moments when you wonder whether life has anything magnificent in plan for you. Whether this was all it? Whether you have made wrong decisions that led you to this point. Why it seems to only happen to you, why you have struggled so long in the same battle, why every work you have put into this does not work out. Why?

All and more of these moments can happen and are part of life. Sometimes we feel lonely, disadvantaged, frustrated. Sometimes we feel discouraged, resentful, broken. Sometimes we feel hopeless, sad, hurt. I have been there, too, and I don`t want to sugar-coat, just be with these feelings - all parts of you - for a moment. You are not alone. You have never been. Even if there are no people around you, your heart has witnessed how strong you have mastered your past challenges, how kind you have been to others nevertheless, and how tender you are within. I know this time can be hard to bear, please ask others for help, even if it is only to clear your emotions and thoughts. You don`t have to be strong and find a quick solution. You don`t have to prove anything to others. You can just be who you are, in this moment.

When you read this, know that this situation wants to get your attention on something. Whether it means that we have to leave a toxic environment or relationship. Whether we should be kinder to ourselves instead of being so harsh (we would never dare to use those words to our family or friends). Or whether we just need a hug, love, and care, from time to time.

I know you are capable of navigating through this journey - and you don`t have to do it alone. Reach out and be open for a flower that starts blossoming. Also feel free to let it out - all your tears, all your cries, shout out your angers out of your lungs, your emotions want to motion. They are neither good or bad, but indicators of what is currently serving you well or not. Lean in to your support network to help you make these decisions, committed to your wellbeing.

Finally, when you read this - you are a beautiful soul and being. No one can take your life experience from you. No one is you - out of more than 7 billion people on this precious planet. Your pain will connect you with others, who have experienced the same pain. You will transform, like a butterfly out of its cocoon, or a snake shedding its skin. Hold on to the wisdom: "This, too, shall pass." I believe in you, and would like to make this request: "How can you nurture yourself like a mother does with her child?"

How can I help you during this time? Let me know by sending an email to – I would be very keen to hear your views! :) PS: Subscribe to my Newsletter to stay in touch for any upcoming posts and news :)

This week`s ...

  • Inspiration: Deepak Chopra - The Path To Love

  • Reflection: How can I take care of myself?

  • Intention: I don`t judge my emotions and my situation, and choose to be with them, with loving kindness. I know this, too, shall pass.
